Reach Rescue has adoption events every Saturday from 12pm-4pm at our Mundelein Adoption Center (372 Townline Rd., Mundelein, IL).
During the warmer months, you can also find us at the Libertyville Farmers Market every Thursday from 10am-1pm (Cook Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL). The market begins May 30 and runs through October 17 this year.

We partner with 12 Paws Pet Supply (formerly Bentley’s Pet Stuff) on this busy night of shopping and eating to bring adoptable dogs to their storefront location. Not only can you meet dogs in need of forever homes, you can shop, eat, explore and more along Main Street Libertyville.

GO Gurnee Walkin’ & Waggin’ Dog Walking Kick-Off Event
Join Reach Rescue and the Gurnee Park District at the GO Gurnee Walkin’ & Waggin’ Kick-Off event. This walking initiative encourages people to get out and about in their local parks, especially with their favorite pooch. Meet adoptable dogs and learn more about Reach Rescue’s mission while enjoying a nice walk around Gurnee Park District’s Viking Park. This kick-off includes a free hot dog lunch, goodie bags and other giveaways!
Mother’s Day Bake Sale!
During our normal Saturday adoption event, stop in for a special feature; our Mother’s Day Bake Sale! Grab some treats and have it benefit rescue dogs, then get some puppy love in with our adoptable dogs.

Adoption Event at First Ascent
Join Reach Rescue at First Ascent Climbing in Arlington Heights! We’ll be relaxing with Dog Yoga from 10:30am-11:30am. Adoptable dogs will be on site to meet from 10:30am-1pm!
100+ Women Who Care Presentation
100 Women Who Care - NW Suburban Chicago Chapter is a non-profit fundraising organization made up of and run by women. At each quarterly meeting, members hear presentations from three pre-nominated local charities and then determine which charity is to receive the quarter’s donations up to $10,000. Reach Rescue is honored to be one of the three charities presenting in April at Emmett’s in Palatine, alongside Gerry’s Cafe and Shelter, Inc. When you donate $100 to a charity, you may wonder if you’re making a difference, but when 100 people donate $100 at the same time, they raise $10,000 for a worthy cause. That’s REAL impact, and it only takes one hour of your time.

Join Reach Rescue at O’Toole’s Pub in downtown Libertyville, IL for delicious food (available for purchase through O’Toole’s), raffles, and photos with the Easter bunny on their dog-friendly patio. Kids and dogs welcome!

St. Pawtrick's Day at Timothy O'Toole's 2024
Join Reach Rescue as we pawty it up for St. Pawtrick’s Day at Timothy O’Toole’s in Libertyville, IL. O’Toole’s gorgeous outdoor patio (covered and heated for winter) welcomes dogs. Bring your own or come meet some adoptable dogs from Reach. There will be an opportunity to take photos with Lucky the Leprechaun - dogs or kids welcome! Volunteers will be walking around to tables to see if you’d like to participate in a raffle benefitting our dogs. Grab a bite to eat, take some photos, raffle it up - and don’t forget to wear green!
Skate with the Dogs 2024
Join Reach Rescue at the Glacier Ice Arena on February 18 for a fun and furry afternoon at Skate with the Dogs! A portion of public skate tickets will be donated back to Reach to help care for our foster dogs. Public Skate begins at 12:40pm, and adoptable dogs will be at Glacier from 12:30-2pm. Want to help out even more? We will be collecting donations, both monetary and supplies! Check out ReachRescue.org/Support for a list of our most-needed items. We are so excited to partner with the Glacier Ice Dogs bringing even more canine fun to the ice!
Fostering Open House
Join us February 15th from 7-8pm at Reach Rescue as we discuss fostering, answer questions and provide an opportunity to speak with some of our fosters about this rewarding program.
We provide all of the food, supplies and medical support. All you need to provide is a passion for helping dogs and a temporary caring home.
As a foster, you will:
Save a dog’s life
Help a rescued dog become a happy, well adjusted pet
Allow us to learn about each dog’s unique personality, preparing it for its forever home
Join a wonderful community helping to make a difference in each animal’s life
Dog Bingo at The Parched Pug
We are joining forces with The Parched Pug to present Dog Bingo! Cost will be $5 per card and all proceeds from bingo will go to Reach Rescue. Reach volunteers will be bringing some adoptable dogs to join in the fun! Come test your luck, win prizes and support a wonderful rescue. Food and drink are available for purchase through The Parched Pug.

Get out on the green and golf for a paws! Join Reach Rescue for the second annual Barks & Bogeys Golf Outing benefitting Reach's local animal rescue efforts. Enjoy a day of golf, fun challenges, raffles, prizes, dogs, post-round social and more with friends for a good cause. All benefits go towards the dogs. Reach at Libertyville's Dog Days of Summer
If you’re a dog owner in the Lake or Cook County area, you’ll want to hit up Libertyville’s Dog Days of Summer! Dog-related vendors, fun activities, Police K9 demonstrations, pet costume parades, dock diving competitions and more await you and your furry friends during this weekend of fun. During Dog Days, we forgo our weekly Adoption Event at our facility to hang out with our adoptables at Dog Days. We love seeing Reach alum there, too! Stop by and say hi, and maybe even meet your match.

5,000th Dog Rescued Celebration
This May, Reach Rescue hit a huge milestone; we rescued 5,000 dogs! Since we started our organization in 2011, a grand total of 5,000 dogs and counting have walked through our doors and gotten a second chance at life. That’s reason to celebrate! On June 10, we’ll be having our normal adoption event from noon-4pm but we will also have face painting, Famous Frankie’s Hot Dog Cart, raffles, games and more from 11am-1pm. Meet adoptable dogs, have fun with the family and help us pawty it up!
